Material Properties
In Bentley OpenUtilities Designer, a material is defined by the following properties.
- ID-an unique alphanumeric identifier for the material.
- Major Material-a special classification determined by the company. Major materials are flagged in the bill of materials. Otherwise Bentley OpenUtilities Designer handles major and minor materials in the same way.
- Name-the name of the material item.
- Quantity-the quantity of material that constitutes the unit.
- Unit of Measure-the measurement unit in which the item's quantity is expressed.
- Cost-the cost of the material that makes up the unit.
- Description-a description of the material item.
The New Material Item dialog box is used to supply values for the properties of a new material. This dialog box also provides access to a customized dialog box with additional material attributes if your company has defined a set of custom attributes for materials.
The properties of an existing material item are displayed in the Material Item Properties dialog box.
